Grandma Curtis

Recently I posted about my Great Grandma Neese who died a couple years ago. Yesterday my other great grandma died. I love her so much.

While I was living in St. George I got really close to her. She was a sweet woman. She cared a lot about other people. She could hardly walk to her room with out being short on breath and when I would go and visit her she would tell me about her neighbor that was having a hard time. I remember refilling her cookie jar a couple times. She liked the kind with a graham cracker kind of crust and the filling. My grandma always has a jar full of similar cookies at her house too. My Grandma Curtis loved reading too. She would always talk about Louis L'amour. And how good his stuff was. She also really liked crossword puzzles and puzzles while I knew her. She also really liked dancing with the stars. She would ask me when it was coming on even when the season was over.

I really grew to love her a lot while I was able to spend the time I did with her, which really wasn't that much at all. Only a couple hours a week for about 9 months. She started to lose her memory but she would still greet anyone who said hi to her, whether she remembered their name or not, with a big smile, a chuckle (I love her chuckle), and a pat on the hands.

remember one time she was trying to figure out how to work her tape player and I showed her how. I know I probably wasn't the first one to show her how but she was so HAPPY when she was able to do the tapes herself. She gave me the biggest thank you. It was so sweet. She would also always tell me stories about her husband and the mission they served. She loved it. I also remember how much she loved her "gogo" She loved taking "walks" around the block on it. It was so fun!

I love you Grandma Curtis. May God be with you til we meet again.

I just wanted to put this up because I've been thinking about her a lot lately.
