Upbeat

Today I want to write about something happy. like SPRING IS HERE!!! (: I feel like my last few posts have been on the down side of up.  School is almost over so that is really exciting for me. I love school but I am ready for Summer Break whenever it comes around. I am also ready for sunshine and tan lines! I feel like I have no color at all.

Just to give mother nature a hint (since she obviously needs it....making it snow after beautiful weather we have had, really?) I painted my toenails today so now I can wear sandals. Hooray!

I also love this time of year because my little brother and sister have all kinds of concerts and performances. I love watching and listening. The other day my sister had a concert that was 10 minutes long. No joke. We sat there waiting for it to start as long as it actually was haha but I loved it. I love reminiscing about how I was learning to play the violin (quite terribly I might add) and how cute all the little kids look with their scrunched up faces from focusing so hard and their cute black and white semi-formal dress.

I also love this time of year because it is so close to Easter. I am in an institute choral and today we sang a BEAUTIFUL arrangement of "Beautiful Savior" by Sally Deford. It sounds even better with both men and women voices in my opinion but still I love the key changes and the  progression throughout the song. Every time I hear or sing this song I feel my gratitude for the Savior grow even more.  He is so amazing. He is the reason there is joy in this life. And like my blog summary says "He watches over us rain or shine." I hope you like the song too, if so there is a free download.

Be happy everyone! It is spring! And Life is beautiful.

Grandma Corbin

Well I really don't have an excuse for only blogging lately when someone dies. I'm sorry about that for those of you who actually read this. Life is very full of wonderful things right now and I love it. I am so happy with where I am at today. I feel happy really most of the time.

Today my Dad's mom died. I have to say that I didn't know her as well as some of my other cousins did. She lived with a lot of my Dad's siblings but never with us. She also lived in a completely different state than we do for a long time so that made things complicated since my family doesn't travel very often. I do know that my grandma loved to play cards. Any kind of game really. If conversations ever lulled she would ask everyone if we would like to play a game. It was always fun even though she nearly always won. She was really smart.

I also know that she loved to love us. She would always want a hug when we first saw her and when we were about to leave and sometimes in between. She loved my little sister's dimples. She called her "my dimple darling." She had as way of talking to people she loved that I think she hoped would make us feel special and let us know how much she loved us.

The last time I saw my Grandma Corbin when I was leaving she told me she wanted me to keep working hard. I will try to do that Grandma! And I will think of you when it gets hard to do so. I love you.
