If I could
If I could open my heart
Open the door
Give someone the key
To the lock I put on.
If I could open my mind
Listen to the wise
Learn from others mistakes
Not only my own.
If I could open my ears
Understand messages
Meant just for me
There to help me through.
Then perhaps
I would love more than ever,
Share my heart with another
I’d have a lover.
Then perhaps
I would learn enough
To teach others
And not just myself.
Then perhaps
I would not be confused
I’d see my path
And follow it home.
If only I could.
Well, perhaps I can.

ReplyDeleteI love how Heavenly Father, "giveth light unto the understanding; for he speaketh unto men according to their language, unto their understanding." (2 Nephi 31:3) Then in 3 Nephi 9:18, "I am the light and the life of the world. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end." Thus, "whatsoever is light, is good" (Alma 32:35).Then, my very favorite..."That which is of God is light, and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day...I say it that you may know the truth, that you may chase darkness from among you." (D&C 50:24,25)
ReplyDeleteYou, my dear, are full of "light". D&C 88:67- "He whose eye is single to God's glory shall be filled with light." I see His light in you, even in the "rain". Thank you.
