Just me and the pavement.
I move fast but not as fast as my thoughts
They race ahead.
I don't know where I'm going
Just far enough to catch up with my thoughts I guess
Far enough to get my heart under control
My knees start to ache but I can't stop yet
One more block
One more hill
There it is
My breaking point
I know that here I can think freely
No one will interupt here
The cars passing by don't bother me
They become almost like wind just passing through
Just me and my thoughts and my father above
This is why I run
This is why I run outside
Tredmills don't have the same effects as trees and fresh air
And pavement, that's where it all starts.
